Nalandabodhi Path of Study

Introduction to Buddhism

Reading for tonight: The Four Foundations of Mindfulness (INT 104)

Working with our minds has never been more important (or challenging!) The introductory courses in the Nalandabodhi Path of Study offer a chance to explore the basic principles  of Buddhism and lay the foundation for deeper studies, including being introduced to the views of different Buddhist schools. The intro courses, each of which consists of four classes are:

  • The Life of the Buddha and the Spiritual Journey (INT 101)
  • Traveling from Confusion to Original Sanity (INT 102)
  • Karma, Rebirth, and Selflessness (INT 103)
  • The Four Foundations of Mindfulness (INT 104)

A detailed class outline is available here. The Nalandabodhi Path of Study courses make up one part of the three-part Nalandabodhi Path designed and supervised by Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche. Taken together with the Path of Meditation and the Path of Mindful Activity, the Path of Study courses give you a thorough training in the philosophical and meditative disciplines of the Kagyu and Nyingma Buddhist traditions, as well as practical instruction for applying your studies and meditation experience to your daily life.

Join us as we continue our exploration of the Introduction to Buddhism series of the Nalandabodhi Path of Study. These intro courses are tuition-free for both the public and members.  A donation of any amount helps defray the costs of rent and programs. To purchase the texts and binders for the Introduction to Buddhism classes, please visit the Nalanda Store.
