Birthday Offering for Khenpo Rinpoche

Khenpo RinpocheThe birthday celebrations for DPR’s beloved teacher, Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche, are just around the corner. As some of our sangha depart for Nepal, we’d like to request your kind assistance (In other words, we really need your help!)

For many years, Khenpo Rinpoche has put much love and attention in supporting female monastic practitioners. He has established study and practice opportunities in nunneries, shedras (monastic colleges), and three-year retreats, which have traditionally only been offered to male practitioners. If there was ever a great example of how to practice equanimity, Khenpo Rinpoche is it!

To celebrate Khenpo Rinpoche’s birthday, Nalandabodhi is creating an opportunity to participate in a collective act of generosity: to make a cash & robe offering to the nuns during Khenpo’s birthday celebration.  A set of monastic robes costs about US$30 or 3,000 Nepalese Rupees. We also aim to make a monetary cash offering of US$10 or R1,000 each for 250 nuns in Nepal and Bhutan. Total cost is about US$8,200.

UPDATE:  THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED AND PLEDGED.  OUR NB STUDENTS ARE NOW DELIVERING OUR DONATIONS IN NEPAL.  If you’d like to support Khenpo Rinpoche’s nunnery projects please check it out here.
